About me

I used to be the world's biggest Mormon skeptic (really). I first learned about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) when serving as a Catholic lay missionary in South America. Three years later, I came in contact with the LDS church again, while pursuing a master's in theology at a seminary. After giving up the Catholic Church for Lent one year (long story), I decided to go to my friends’ churches with them each Sunday. The LDS church was my first and last stop.

While I struggled with LDS doctrine and wrestled with the thought of losing part of my identity as a Catholic, at the end of the day, I knew through prayer, experience, and careful study that the LDS church was what it claimed to be and that the Book of Mormon--no matter how crazy the story of its origins-- was in fact the word of God. The early Christian church had been restored, and I knew that God knew that I knew it was true. Almost two years after receiving my answer, I finally had the courage to get baptized.

Now two years after my baptism, I remain an active member in my congregation just outside of Washington, D.C.
